Daniel Barojas (a.k.a. Rope5, R5) is a Mexican born artist who lives and works in St. Pete. He works in many artistic mediums including: watercolor, mixed media illustration, photography, graphic/product design, jewelry, toys & graffiti. He spreads positive messages with his art, using his cultural and street influences as inspiration.

Barojas did a beautiful job depicting Tocobaga Indian tribe culture in one of his recent murals. The Tocobaga Indians were indigenous people and the original settlers of Pinellas and Hillsborough county areas from 900 to the 1500s. The typical Tocobaga village was usually found in a public area, frequently used as a meeting place. Round houses with palm thatched roofs were held up by big wooden poles that made up the villages. He captures elderly wisdom along with youthful hope of the future, showing importance for ancestral knowledge of the Tocobaga Indians.

Barojas’ creative services company, R5 Imagaing, specializes in solving problems creatively in branding, print design, product concepts and development. He was granted an Individual Artist Award grant from the ST. Pete Arts Alliance.
