3 Daughters Brewery mural by Vitale Brothers St Pete Florida

The Vitale Brothers have been instrumental in evolving St. Pete’s art scene to what it is today.

They have held various events promoting local art and artists long before this area became known as an international art destination. From fine art reproductions to faux finishes and unique wall textures to lettering signs for businesses to street art murals, The Vitale Brothers have been painting the town of St. Pete since 1992. “We’re really into art by itself. We’re big supporters of the local arts scene.”

You can find a few walls around DTSP with The Vitale Brothers mural work, and they have also encouraged other local artists to participate. “If you really want to get noticed,” he said, “find a building and get permission.” Well-known local artist Johnny Vitale calls the St. Pete mural collective a “roaming city gallery.”

Art runs in the Vitale Brothers blood, and they may be looking at expanding their reach beyond the local area. “It’s inspiring for us. It’s opening our eyes to taking this show on the road and not just doing it locally.”

Keep up with Paul, Johnny, and Joey’s latest art news on their lively Facebook Page.
