Cecilia Lueza

Cecilia Lueza is an Argentinian artist and sculptor well known for public art pieces with vibrant images that can be seen in cities throughout the US.

Cecilia Lueza started the project “Connecting the Blocks” where she mixes sand into the paint to make it safe for drivers, and designs beautiful large scale art in city intersections. Some of her other large scale murals can be seen in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, Miami, FL, Tucson, Az, Washington DC and Norfolk, Va.

Lueza’s “Creative Block” piece at the intersection of 5th Street and Central Ave in Downtown St Pete was a party opener during the 2016 SHINE Mural Festival. The 39,000 sq ft painting makes the intersection shine with color and patterns. (Photo courtesy of Lara Cerri – Times)
