Alex Yanes has a refreshing humbleness about him that keeps him grounded in the dynamic art scene. Born in Miami, he pulls inspiration from the wild personalities and characters of his city and his Cuban heritage. This super chill and approachable artist takes influences of punk rock, hip hop, and the tatooed skateboarding culture of his youth as inspiration for his work. He started winning art competitions at the age of six and has been sky rocketing since then. He committed to being a full time artist in 2006, and his work is an autobiography of sorts, showing windows into his personal experiences.
Yanes has been exploring beyond the canvas with wood, resin, acrylic,
and enamel as three-dimensional installations that have piqued interest from collectors and companies like Sony, Adidas, The Learning Channel, Neiman Marcas, Red Bull and more. He has also worked with St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, The Miami Children’s Museum, The Dan Marino Foundation for Autism, NBA Cares and The Children’s Trust. His imaginative work attracts collectors all over the world, and he is looking forward to expanding his reach in galleries and on the walls of California, Australia, Germay, Brazil, and New York.
