Jimmy Breen is a St. Pete based artist known as a dream creator. He focuses on brand identity, print design and content creation.
He graduated from the University of South Florida with a BFA in Art and Graphic design, and a minor in Art History. Breen combines the feedback he gets with people’s ideas and dreams to create art that helps grow businesses and brands at his creative agency, Wax & Hive.
Breen often creates illustrations that become widely used designs for all sorts of products from drink coasters to hats to menu displays. He has been doing design work for internationally known bands, record labels, and management companies for the past decade. Breen is also a master screen printer, with an extensive background in many printing methods. He says, “Lately, I’ve been building branding for music tours, festivals, and restaurants with the St. Pete advertising and design firm Wax & Hive. I make some t-shirts with my brand Swearing Sailor. I also contribute regularly to my Instant Vintage design resources store.”
Anthony Freese is co-founder and Art Director of Wax & Hive, and he is passionate about helping Jimmy create an environment for their team to continuously improve. He says, “The never-ending learning experiences that design provides. Once you think you have it figured out – new trends appear, standards change, and applications evolve. As graduates of the USFSP Graphic Design program, Jimmy and I try to foster a positive & collaborative design community in St. Pete. We find it humbling to be able to provide jobs for other creatives. Curiosity and the urge to create is what continues to fuel us.”
